Visual hierarchy. People tend to look from left to right top to left, if you don’t create an explicit visual hierarchy people follow that. You can create it by using big shapes, and white shapes, or by highlighting a single things w.r.t. the rest.

There is a visual hirarchy ranking:

  1. Size - larger elements draw more attention
  2. color - Birght or contrasting colors stand out
  3. Positioning - Top of the page or along the natural reading path are read first.
  4. Typography - Different fonts and texts can help (bold, large, typefaces etc.)
  5. Whitespace - Breathing room around critical point makes those stuff stand out.
